The 2020 Academic Annual Meeting of the Chinese Mathematical Society was held in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province from October 16th to 19th, 2020. More than 1000 participants including the 13th Council of the Chinese Mathematical Society, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, experts and scholars from universities and scientific research institutes, and representatives of editing and publishing houses attended the meeting.

During the conference, Academician Weinan E of Peking University, Professor Xiaoshan GAO of Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor Weixiao SHEN of Fudan University delivered the plenary talks. More than 100 mathematicians have made sessional talks in ten mathematical fields, including algebra and number theory, geometry and topology, ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations, real analysis and complex analysis, computational mathematics, probability and statistics, operational research and control, combinatorial and computer mathematics, and mathematical education. Before and during the conference, Academicians Jiaan YAN, Gang TIAN, Nanhua XI, Yaxiang YUAN also gave a number of science popularization talks in local and surrounding universities and middle schools.

As a Chinese American mathematician, a foreign academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Shiing Shen Chern is a worldwide math master. He made outstanding contributions to the development of mathematics.
Professor Jiaqing ZHONG was very concerned about the development of the mathematics of the motherland during his lifetime and worked hard for it. He has said that the development of mathematics depends on the active cultivation and selection of outstanding young mathematicians.
